About Me

I am sure you would like to know a little about me! My name is Amanda Bartee. I was raised in Bethalto all of my life. I actually attended Bethalto East from Kindergarten to sixth grade. We currently live in Bunker Hill but I still call Bethalto my home. After leaving the Bethalto schools, I attended SIUE. I graduated from SIUE in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. This is my 20th year teaching Kindergarten in the school district and I love it!!!!!! When I am away from school, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my husband Steve, my 21-year old daughter, Teghan, my 17-year old daughter, Kaylin and my 11-year old daughter, Adelynn!

SEESAW Parent Communication

Parents...You will need to download this app for communication!
This is a form of communication that I, as the teacher, can use to inform you of something by message or you can notify me of any questions/concerns. Please download the Seesaw Family App and I will be sending home more info soon.
Our classroom facebook page
This year we will be having a classroom Facebook page in hopes that this will allow you to get a snapshot of what we do in class. I will be posting photos from our days and classroom achievements on this page. This page will be private and I will be the only person approving requests to join. Please remember to be respectful of everyone on this page. Also I ask for you not to share pictures posted that contain more than just your child. Our page name is: Mrs. Bartee's Kindergarten 2023-2024, or you can click the Facebook icon above this paragraph.
Seesaw

This will be an app that we will be using for Parent/Teacher Communication. Instructions will be sent home with how to activate this so you don't miss out on any messages. There is also a student app that will be loaded onto student devices (iPads) and will be used for homework along with activities I assign on any remote learning snow days.
Daily Folders

Be sure to check your child's folders daily. It is very important that notes that need to be signed be returned as soon as possible. Homework should be completed by your child and you may check over it. Homework should be brought back the next day after it is given.

Bethalto East little library
Out front of Bethalto East, at the circle drive, you will find our cute yellow little library! Please be sure to bring your child and check it out! Take a book home to read and bring it back when you are done and get a new one to do the same thing all over again! Reading is extremely important at this age and we want to have books in the kid's hands as often as we can! Enjoy!!!!
Recycling and other collections

Bethalto East participates in many recycling projects. All of these recycling projects are not only great for our environment but also earn the school money! Please remember to send the following items to school to be recycled:
Save your Top tabs from aluminum cans and send them in with your child!
There are also two recycling containers outside by the cafeteria....one is for paper (please no phone books, cardboard or plastic) and the other one is for clothing donations. We receive money for our school from both donation bins.
